Brinlee 23 months

One more month and we will have a two year old in our home. It is hard to believe that this time two years ago I was walking the beaches in Florida just hoping I could induce labor. I was so tired of the weekly ultrasounds and was just ready to have you out!

Brinlee you are something else. No longer are you the quiet little thing that just likes to snuggle with Mommy. You are coming in to your own. A good friend of ours calls it, "SASS!" I'm pretty sure that is exactly what you are just "SASSY!" You keep me on my toes for sure. You love to get into just about everything. You have no fear when it comes to exploring. You are Ashlynn's shadow and follow her around all over the place. What we do for her we have to do for you as well.

Your language skills have just blossomed. You ask questions, repeat everything that is said and express your opinion quite clearly. You are always asking, "What's this one?" You love to sing. It is so cute to hear you sing twinkle twinkle or Old McDonald. Both you and your sister love dance class. You have started taking Mommy and Me dance. The first week you sat back a minute to study what was going on then you jumped right. in. The next week you were not having any of it. This last week you started following instructions from the teacher and loved it!

This last month we have taken your pacifier a.k.a. "nuk" away. I found you one morning huddled in a corner in your room sucking away on the pacifiers that were in your bed. It was like you had found candy and were hiding it. I knew it was time to take it away. You really did pretty well. We had a few days of crying during nap time but surprisingly only one night of crying. Every once in a while when you are fussy you ask for it but other than that you don't seem to miss it.

Our next task will be getting you to transition into a big girl bed. We are building a house and it should be ready March/April. My goal is to have you transitioned by then so we don't have to move your crib. We tried it one afternoon and you screamed bloody murder! We ask you now if you want to sleep in your big girl bed and you pretty much always say "NO!" So it should be a fun transisiton.

Brinlee you are a funny little girl! We love your curiosity (even if it usually results in a mess) and your sassiness!

We can't wait to celebrate your second birthday with you next month!
